Mapleside Farms 10-26-2024
We were originally going to take the kids to Indiana to see a Headless Horseman hayride but my BB saw some abd reviews about the wait lines being so long that no one got to do any of the attractions. So that seemed lame. Then a TikTok about Mapleside Farms appeared in someones for you page and we ended up heading that way. The main attraction there was the largest slide in the United States. This slide is 311 feet long. You slide down on a green piece of carpet and it's pretty cool. There is a sweet view from the top.
There were some cute cut outs for the kids to take pics with.
The kids wanted their pictures on the hay stack.
At the top of the hill there was a big bounce zone and a tractor tire stack with a cool slide at the top.
My daughter didn't want to wear her orange snugee thing so I put it in on.
The real appeal of this place was the apple cider donuts. They were made fresh on the spot. Look at this cool donut making technology.
After the family fall activity we tried looking for a cool local pizza. We found Ohio Pie which claims to be Ohio style pizza. This was not a hit I gave it a 6/10 my BB gave it a 4/10 because of the sweet pizza sauce and my two youngest wouldn't even eat it. The Heart of it All pizza which a Dayton man would call a deluxe ok. The crust reminded me of Little Ceaser's deep dish brushed with garlic spread and the pepperoni were the kind that look like puckered up buttholes. I am continually reminded of how blessed I am to be from Dayton where we have superior pizza like Marion's and Cassano's. These poor North East Ohio shlubs have no idea what they are missing out on.
We would have taken more photos but the only phone charger in the family van was recently destroyed by the kids so it was barely charging and we were all on low battery the entire trip. I will make sure to hide an extra charger away in the glove box for my personal use. I have two in my truck lmao. Two is one and one is none. A pretty good standard for redundancy. Perhaps for the next mission I will make a stronger effort to have all the materials needed.
