Switch Reviews - Dragon Quest VII Reimagined

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Just as I was watching credits roll for Dragon Quest VII on the 3DS the reimagined version was announced. Now obviously I was going to buy this game day one but I was worried about playing DQVII again so soon after finishing it for the first time. But man I got right back in there and LOVED it all over again. It's been a bit devisive from some of the oter opinions I have seen online but I'm about to type out my opinion basically for my own benefit. Let's be honest I'm the only person that looks at my website.
A Ghost! A comfy experience.

A lot of the criticism I have seen is the game is too easy and I would tend to agree that if you play on defualt settings you will FLY through it. So I turned up the difficulty just a smidge. But hear me out. I am a middle aged father with not a lot of time to play long RPGs so it being on the easier side made it nice to play here and there while progressing through it smoothly. The premise is a group of kids yearn for more than their small fishing village and end up in a mystical temple unlocking other islands in the past and solving all of their problems. This set up offers you a ton of short vignettes all in that awesome Dragon QUest style. Many of the stories are kind of dark and meloncholy for a Dragon Quest game but I found that to be engaging. My daughter has been watching me play and the storyline revolving around a kingdom with high tech robots broke her heart.

Honestly this version is different enough that it feels like a must play which is how the other two versions feel! Turns out I can't get enough Dragon Quest VII! I don't know if I would recommend this as your first Dragon Quest but man it is a solid title that deserves a spot in your collection.
