Welcome to Jerry Terrifying's Awesome Homepage!
12/15/2024:Updated the movie log. I've also been working on a different website project that I kind of want to keep separate. I'm using a TOTALLY secret alias for the other website but I've had a lot of help fromt ChatGPT with that project and as always it's been awesome. I have totally been slacking on the hiScore club challenge for the month but December is a brutal month for me in the best of years and I am still handling a lot of jazz for my Mom right now. But I am almost on the other end of that project. I cannot wait to be done with those challenges. Also went with the family to a fun 1880 style farm Christmas which I've added to the adventures page.
12/11/2024:I've been extra busy with cleaning out my Mom's house and am almost done. Only a few more items to truck home. But I did get some time last night and today to dink around with the website and have started recovering features from my old site FatJuicySlop.com. Head over to the shrine section and check out the FatJuicySlop.com Recovery Project. So far I have the Larry the Goldfish page, one of my most infamous pages, and the Chess Club experience recovered. I just uploaded the original pages and only changed the links to the pictures. It's amazing how much of an immature buttwipe I was but everything is left as is for historical purposes. I am definitely a product of my time even if I was always a juggernaught I was still shaped by the world around me. Some of the more interesting pages I have checked out are the ones just documenting regular days. I've gone through a few pages and made a list of ones to tackle first and definitely found a few that do not need to be made public again. Some of them will definitely be interesting to the surviving homies from back in the day. One of the most important pages the Loveland Frog cross over with Tim Death will probably be the single biggest undertaking as it is multiple pages and loaded with images but I will definitely be working towards getting that recovered.
12/03/2024:Let's all congratulate KaijuTrinitron. His score is all the more impressive because this maniac did it without turbo. I had one very lucky run where I took at the large mid level enemy and racked up a lot of the bonus points from bombing the mounds. This animal learned the game, became skilled and blasted the hell out of the enemies. Truly he has earned this digital trophy.
11/29/2024:I remembered a song that I first found on Kazaa back in 2002. All I could remember at first was the opening words "Dooooo weeeeee" which I remember Seth Rocking thinking was particularly funny. The beginning of the song was mostly about the breakfast cereal Crispix which is what I thought was funny. Then the main part of the song is about high school shooters. This came out not too long after Columbine. So I did actually remember the song title "Johnny Rage." But I had no clue who the group was. No matter how much I google the fragments of memory I could scrape up after two decades the internet had no clue what I was taking about. I tried asking AI everything. While cleaning out my Mom's house I found a CD case with a few file discs tossed in there. And amazingly this song was tucked away in the MISC Rap folder. I copied that to my HDD on my laptop and will toss that on a thumb drive. But it also had the name of the group MaddWest which I thought for sure would drum up some google results this time and still nothing. There's like 3 of their songs on youtube that have a handfull of 15 year old comments. WTH? I might pony up the cash for the CD on ebay which is the only proof I can find that this song ever existed at all. When I get a moment at my laptop I'll upload this song somewhere.
I actually had a wild idea and used Bing. I think I am done with google and their useless results. Using Bing or I guess binging Maddwest got me to their soundclick page which had a dead link to Kool Ace Ha's webpage which is archived and appears to have been hosted on geocities. He hails from Indiana and as of 2004 had an @aol.com email address. The MC for Johnny Rage was a fella named Sammy Brazil. Man I really need to set my default search to literally anything but google. God damn what a useless search engine anymore. I am going to make it a mission to find either of these two dudes and figure out what they had going on. One of their videos on youtube had a Japanese comment which I thought was bizarre. Looking at the archived page for Sammy Brazil he mentioned they were featured on a CD called Shibuya style. I just can't believe how limited their online presence is. Their marketing strategy of releasing a song or two on kazaa at least got one fan but you'd think with internet savvy like that they'd have left a larger foot print online.
I also checked on the condition of my rubber band ball that I started working on in the late 1980's or early 1990's. I saw an episode of Clarissa explains it all where Ferguson was trying to get in the Guinnes Book of World Records for the largest rubber band ball. I had one of those McDonalds halloween happy meal buckets, specifically the ghost one, full of rubber bands that I found. The source of the rubber bands was the letter carrier. They would toss the rubber bands down on the ground when loading their mail sacks. So I would gather them up and hoard them in the ghost bucket until I saw that episode of Clarissa Explains it All. Later in highschool my pal Ben thought it was neat so we established some rules for the rubber band balls. The rubber bands couldn't just be bought. They had to be found or "acquired" through happenstance. Most of my rubber bands would continue to be found in the mailman loading locations which I knew where they were all over my neighborhood like 5 different spots he'd park. The other biggest contributor was the rubber bands from the Kroger Salad bar. I guess the statute of limitations has passed for that so it's safe to brag about it now. But look at the poor state of that thing. The last time I added anything to it has been years possibly a decade or more and the dry rot is killing it. I guess I need to go buy some new rubber bands and add a fresh layer. The center of the rubber band ball which was a common question I'd get when people would witness it's majesty is just a single rubber band I wrapped around my finger then rolled it off of my finger so it was gnarled up into a ball. Then I simply started adding rubber bands to it. My other pal Anthony took a tin foil ash tray from a McDonalds and added it to the rubber band ball by mashing the ashtray to its body then wrapping more rubber bands around it. I thought it was funny so left it in there. Other than that it's all 100% rubber bands. THis thing used to bounce really hard with a loud thud. I think Ben's rubber band ball bounced a bit better because he would wrap the bands around tighter.
11/27/2024:Nearing the final streatch of cleaning out my Mom's house but still going through and finding things. Today I almost threw out this BOXED Mario Kart Double Dash stop watch. It has the manual and the little plastic pulltab to keep the battery fresh even. I think when I get a minute to mess with it I will pull the tab and see if it works. I'm posting the photo here because it's SUPER COOL but I also want to take a better photo of it next to Mario Kart Double Dash now that I have the game in my collection before putting it on the memorabilia page.
11/24/2024:In my never ending midlife crisis website build I came up with another section to add to the website. As of now it's a work in progress but it is live as I work on it. There is now a section for video game related quizzes. Remember back in the day on mysapce where people would post 50 questions then you would copy them into your blog and fill them out. I always thought those were fun. So I had chatGPT write me a few quizes for me to do at work. I thought that was just a little too mental and sad so I turned it into a new section on the website. I am under no illusions that anyone else will ever fill these out but the option is there should you want to. I think they're kind of fun. If you think of a way to make these useful on another platform just let me know. Maybe you can fill them out on your facebook for your crusty old Granny to see.
11/22/2024:Updated the movie log with possibly the shortest thoughts on films ever typed on the internet. Also added another item to the game memorabilia page. I'd like to get some updated pictures of the Twister Metal Black and Legend of Dragoon posters now that they've been framed. I don't have wall space to hang them but their in protective coverings which is pretty cool.
11/20/2024:I'm not even sure when this thought initally occured to me but we used to call ourselves Webmasters. We had staked claim to little slices of the internet where we could post whatever mental nonsense was in our heart. Now we're digital serfs stuck on like 4 apps. Make the internet weird again please. That is all.
11/16/2024:It feels like it's been a million years since I've updated the website. Just wanted to add something to the site today. I introduced a buddy to the wonderful world of amatuer radio by suggesting he get a Baofeng radio just to see what he can listen to. He's gone full force into the hobby and is talking about getting his license and has been watching study videos on youtube. That's awesome. Now I have to stop being a punk and get my license too.
11/11/2024:Added two new pages to the Shrines section. I still have a lot more work to do on them especially the Bomberman page but you should definitely check them out. I need to start taking photos of all of my Bomberman games. And man do I have a few of those! I have a few cool Bomberman items which are posted there now! I also added a Sega Saturn page while working last night. Man what a great system full of unique titles and accessories.
11/07/2024:I guess I decided to try to be consistent when typing out the date. For some reason on some pages I use dashes and some pages I used slashes well today marks the beginning of slash supremacy! I also added a review for Starship Hector for the NES on the video game review page. Check that out! I've played a heck of a lot of that game recently in all of its modes. I am still dogshit at it but I did manage to get a rock solid score.
11-06-2024:Lots of updates on the site. Added a tidbit to the movie log but need to flesh it out in the future when I finish the movie with my BB, updated the hi Score board, added a recent trip Arcade Legacy on the outskirts of Cincinatti, added the poll results page, updated the very important poll for the month of November and am keeping the gameplay log updated as well. Check out the score board and consider submitting a score! You have the rest of the month. Drag a Nintendo or an emulator you can set up at Grandma's house this Thanksgiving and submit your familes highest hi score! You think JerryTerrifying wouldn't dunk on Granny's Starship Hector skills? Her hands are all ate up with arthritis I'll take Granny to school!
11-03-2024:Spooky season is cancelled and now it is the time of the turkeys and pumpkin pies! I've been updating the Shrine section with my Awesome Gaming Memorabilia Page!
. Check it out! Also tons of movies have been watched and logged. Also managed to get in some game time especially some game time at work. There's also a Hi Score challenge going on in the Hi Score Club. Man the website is really sizzling, how long cna I keep up this dizzying pace?!
10-31-2024:Happy Halloween! I rolled out the Starship Hector challenge by announcing it on my Instagram story and posting in a few more unscrupulous places around the internet. I have at least one fella saying they're going to post some scores. I did get a very respectable score of 265,500 pts last night and I hope that stays at the top. Despite loving games, making videos about games, making websites about games I am absolutely dogshit at games. But for the maybe 15 minutes of total time I've put into this caravan mode hi score challenge I think I put up a decent number. Tonight or tomorrow I will update the poll on the website that was also going to be another first of the month feature but right now I want the Hi Score challenge to take the center stage.
10-29-2024:So I think I have a pretty solid feature to add to the website. I've had ChatGPT help me with building a simple table to track Hi Score Challenges. I think I will add a page to track the challenges which I will be releasing monthly! So on the first of the month I will take to my instagram, the only platform I am really active on, and announce the months challenge. Submit scores as you play or wait till you get the best score you can I don't know man I've never run a challenge like this before. We will all learn together! I am going to head to the store and nab some C cell batteries for my NES Satellite so I can take a crack at the game with auto fire. Hell I might do some grip training to get my fore arm muscles up to snuff to take another honest shot at Starship Hector the first game in the Hi Score competition.
10-28-2024:I updated the adventure page with our trip to Billy Bob's Wonderland. You should check it out! I also started working on a table to track my completion rate of the mainline Dragon Quest series. Once I make tables for the various spin off games and get them all up to date I will link to them from the Dragon Quest shrine page.
10-27-2024:Updated the Adventures page with our visit to Mapleside Farms up near Cleveland. I also collected the shrine pages to a single page. The next shrine I will work on will be for Bomberman! UPDATE: I updated the gameplay log but it's with the heartbreaking tale of how my Everdrive GB is messed up or something.
10-25-2024:I added a live chat type feature you can check it out it's on the menu on the left. I also added a new gameplay log page. I've been enjoying logging movies as I watch them. They're not really full reviews and just keep track of what and when I'm watching which I think will be neat to look back in some years. I also have a nasty habit of starting games then setting them down for months or years until I get a bug up my ass to finish them. So this way I will have a readily accessibly digital note system to look back on my games. I actually used my live streams of Dragon Warrior sessions to keep track of what I was doing the last time. I tried to always end the videos by saying what I was doing or needed to do next so I could look back at them when jumping back in. This will now be a feature of my website for my convenience. I stole the idea from What video game did I play yesterday? This is also where I saw the chatbox feature. One of the things I used to do back in the day was inspect people's HTML so I could hijack their features for my website.
10-22-2024 (A bit later):So I asked ChatGPT if it could build me a fully functioning webring and explain to me how to implement it like I was a slobbering retard. And it worked! So I have it running on a test page and have all the server side stuff ready to go. Now what needs to happen is I need a few distinquished gentlemen to join my webring. If you would like to get in on the ground floor of my mighty internet empire you can Email Me here.
10-22-2024:Managed to knock out another one of the bigger updates. I was exhausted and fell asleep for about 40 minutes then woke up full of pep and vigor. So I did what anyone would do. Started working on my neocities home page. Added the Family Adventures page to the site. I always take tons of pictures of what we do with the kids but never do anything with it. I thought it would be fun to toss together a log of all the adventures we go on. I probably won't but it's possible that I'll add things we've already done instead of just logging them as we go. A few months ago we rode a really cool canal boat and that just popped into my mind that I need to toss that up on the adventure page. Who knows maybe one night at work I'll knock that one out. The next major section I want to add to the page is the STUFF I FOUND AT MY PARENTS HOUES page. It will follow the same framework. Oh I added a second page to the Morton's List section. The link to the TagMap was unceromoniously tossed at the bottom of the page. I figured since I eventually want to start doing events, that I have fully planned out in complete and total detail btw, I can use that part of the homepage for organizing the actual events when I do get some time. It probably won't be for several months and probably not this year but to really take my Morton's List journey to the next level I need to get out of my comfort zone and start meeting strangers and recruiting new players to my Inner Circle. I do have at least one or two IRL friends that have played with me and maybe I can get them to attend my real events. That would make it much more likely to happen. You have no idea how terrifying the thought of meeting strangers to play this rad game is to me. I'm very shy. But having a few allies with me would go a long way to making me feel comfortable leading a quest with mostly strangers. I also think it's equally exciting playing with new people. I had such a great time at the event in Tennessee.
10-21-2024:A few updates to the page. Updated the homepage to maximize spookiness as we creep closer to Halloween. This was a very important update. Logged some movies in the movie log, aded a very short review of Food Fight for the Atari 7800.
10-18-2024:Got the major update for the video game page completed. Now you can select a system and jump to it to see the reviews. So far I only have a few reviews and most of them are for the Switch. I added a pretty decent short form review of Ninja Jajamaru The Great Yokai Battle + Hell. Wew that's a mouthfull to say and a handfull to type. Once I get done poking around updating bits and bobs on my homepage I'm going to fire up the Switch and play some ranked mode. I've been enjoying that more than I thought I would. I would like to get some more games written about across some more diverse systems. So I guess I will try to find some quick pick up and play type games to mess with at work so I can fill out my page a bit more.
10-17-2024:So I was driving home from my Mom's house and without warning a URL popped into my brain. HTMLgoodies.com! That was the website that taught me basic HTML over 20 years ago when I first started making awful websites. This one is only slightly not awful because ChatGPT helped me put it together. But while looking at the primer courses in the archive from 2002, which I remember following and saving my first handmade website written in notepad and saved onto a floppy diskette, I saw an HTML tag I needed to fix something minor. That was pretty neat. That fella is stell helping me make awful pages that no one looks at. LMAO if you do see this please drop me an email or sign my guestbook on the contact page just to let me know I'm not screaming into the void, I mean I am, but I'd like to know you're in the void with me. Anyway I used the < br > tag which I forgot existed and have just been using the < p > tag making may pages have yucky looking spaces.
10-16-2024:I've started one of the biggest updates to the site. It's still in notepad on my laptop but I got most of the framework sorted out. I copied some HTML I used in my last personal homepage the legendary JerryTerrifying.com. I just copy/pasted the bit about my game collection so I can have some jumpto links to more easily navigate the video game page. I had some limited time to mess around with it and most of the time that I did have to mess around with it my Son was with me who thinks is the most boring thing that can happen to a person and to be fair watching your Dad write HTML in notepad is pretty boring. But it's my little mental escape project and I think I need this time to mess with my awesome homepage. But in the next day or three I want to get the outline for the video game page live and start adding to it. I also bought a copy of Rune Factory 3 for the Switch. It popped up on my radar when I was looking around for DS games to buy. Some user on gamefaqs made this one seem really cool and a new copy of the Switch version was $20 and I had just eaned a $10 paypal payout from an app. So I couldn't say no for $10. Maybe my kids will enjoy this one too.
10-12-2024:I'm not sure when I'm going to start working on it but I will be making a STUFF I HAVE FOUND IN MY PARENTS HOUSE page. My Mom's mobility has been lot and she's landed in a retirement home. One of the best in the country and an 8 minute drive from me so I can actually see her much more. But I have the grim task of clearing out my Mom's house. She's renting it becasue my family had to sell it in the early 90's but still live there. No idea why my Dad didn't buy it back when offered several times. He could have been earning equity instead of just paying rent. Who knows. However I have been finding tons of unhinged shit that you didn't want to know about your parents. I wish the porno and marital aids were the worst things I've found. That's to be expected. My Dad hand copied lewd greeting cards on tracing paper. For some purpose. The pictures will flip your wig and to me the plagiarizing lewd greeting cards to pretend you're a sex pest humorist is the truly shocking part.
10-11-2024:Wrote a little bit about Night of the Creeps. Also added an 88x31 style button hopefully the first of many for my Spacehey page. I also had an interview for a rad job that would have been work from home. But the scheduling would not work for my family at the moment. The interview gals said that I can reapply when things are a better fit. My BB was listening to my interview and said I sounded confident and did a great job. The feedback they gave was to get some hands on experience using Microsoft products. They use Excel, Outlook, and Teams. So I've been messing with the web based versions of them a little bit. I think in the morning or when I get some more time I will download my google docs game collection spreadsheet and toss it into the web version of Excel to mess with a little bit. Something I should have done a long time ago was signing in all of my emails into Thunderbird. I used to have that set up on my desktop PC and would check everything from time to time. My Mail Chimp account has been deleted from TWO YEARS of inactivity. Man that sucks. I had made a few Mondo Cool TV newsletter email things to go with those episodes. I think the newsletters are now lost forever if I didn't happen to send a copy of it to myself on my main email account. Oops.
10-09-2024:Still doing well with the 75 Hard mission. All I have left to do today is read 10 pages which I should be able to do at work if not I'll just knock that out in my truck before heading in the house. I also keep forgetting my progress photo so I also need to get that knocked out when I get in from work. Today while both kids were in school I put together a dresser for my daughters new room. While that was going I had The Evil Dead so I will be adding that to my movie log in a moment. Last night I did manage to get House of the Dead Iv running on my PS3 even with my Move controller giving me shit. I think the battery is dead and it won't hold a charge but I have a long enough USB extension that I could still play it. I will have to see if I can change that bad billy out. Oh! I signed up for a SpaceHey Page which is a myspace clone. I was thinking I didn't want to stink up my COOL PAGE with constant updates about 75 Hard so I will use Spacehey to conveniently blog that nonsense.
10-08-2024:I got my Elgato HD set up to record some House of the Dead 3 and 4 later this evening. My son was bouncing off the walls the entire time I tried to trouble shoot my issue so that was a challenge but I did it! I want to grab some new footage of those games for the HotD page. I'm also letting my PS3 run a while to charge up the Move controller. I'm looking forward to another run through those PS3 versions of the game. who knows maybe I'll toss in HotD Overkill.
10-07-2024:I started Hard 75 today. I don't think I will be able to finish the full 75 days but I'm going to try my best for 75 days and see just how short I fall. I have an extreme amount of demands on my time on a near daily basis but today I managed to knock out just about everything on the task list for Hard 75. The only thing I still need to do is read for 10 minutes but I unfortunately forgot to bring a book with me to work. I should be able to knock that out after work without too much trouble. I just need to remember to grab a book and get it done! I'm so bummed I forgot to grab a book on the way out the door! I wanted to have it all done ahead of schedule. I think the hardest part of the challenge for me is going ot be the reading and the progress photos. My brain is so destroyed from smart phone internet malarkey and how full my plate is that I feel like I need to be getting at least three things done at any given time. This makes me feel anxious when I sit down to read or try to play video games for more than a few minutes. What a shame. Maybe it's just adulthood creeping into my life.
For those that don't know Hard 75 is a mental toughness challenge that runs for 75 days. THe six tasks you must accomplish each day are as follows:
01. Follow a Diet. I'm surprised how leniant and open ended this one is. So I'm just eating clean at a specific calorie range. Easy peasy.
02. A 45 minute work out.
03. A second 45 minute work out. One of these must be outdoors and they must be separated by a few hours. So no 45 minute run to the gym and then a 45 minute lift session. That's just one hour and a half work out.
04. Drink a gallon of water. This one seems to be the hard one for most people. Drinking coffee, flavored water, milk or any non water drink doesn't count towards the gallon goal. Oh and no alcohol during the challenge. I drink only and don't drink alcohol anyway.
05. Daily progress photo. This one's going to be so easy to forget. So far so good for today though.
06. 10 Minutes of reading. This is supposed to be a non fiction self help book. I think most self help books are hot garbage so one of the first books which I definitely can classify as self help is going to be The Holy Bible. There are definitely some helpful tid bits and tried and true methods for solving many of lifes problems. So I do want to actually sit down and do 10 minutes of reading in the good book. For today it's going to be something historical because that's the non fiction I have in my collection waiting to be read.
So for today I cycled my kids to school. First my daughter wich is right up the road then about 20 minutes later my son to his school that's a bit farther then after that I cycled around for 45 minutes. I did hit the library to print out some nonsense but should have grabbed a non fiction self help book but I didn't have the time so that will have to wait. Then I got my second workout in the form of walking to pick up my daughter from school in the wagon which me and my Son do everyday already. But I did walk a bit extra to the to the 45 minute mark. Many people choose to do their second workout as a 45 minute walk so it ticks the box of being outside and also keeps you form over training. Both of my workouts happened to be outdoors and cardio today. I think that by next week I'll start up at least doing a MWF lifting routine of some sort while my son is in school.
So why are you doing this Jerry Terrifying? Well I saw the challenge a few months ago and have watched tons of videos about people finishing the program. Recently I have been running and while on vacation at the end of August my knee started hurting. I think it's just an over worked tendon. Well I have rested on it till it felt 100% better done some light one mile runs and all was good. Then the first week I got back to longer runs and did a few 5ks the very slight ache came back. So I am going to try to switch to cycling when both of my kids are in school which is about 2.5 hours every MWF. I figured I would give this a shot and do my best to hit all 75 days. If you fail you are supposed to start over again at day 1. So I will chart and log all of my progress even if I fail I will keep trying to hit these daily tasks to the best of my ability. Even if I don't 100% nail it I will be better off than had I languished doing nothing.
Also my weight loss has been stagnant since that vacation. So I want to get that moving again. I haven't gained anything and have been maintaining which is also a skill I need to learn. I do need to be able to just stay at a good weight without training like a maniac or blowing up into a big fat sack of shit. So that's been cool just maintaining for a while. However I am ready to get down to the next milestone target weight and I think this will help facilitate it. I probably won't post too much about this type of thing because it's pretty boring but that's what was in my heart today.
10-05-2024:Added a bit to the Movie Log and added an animated .gif to the House of the Dead page, a gif of my own creation! I could have uploaded my gif to youtube and embedded it I suppose but this felt more authentic. I did upload it as a reel on instagram so you can see it with sound. The sound that The Chariot makes is pretty hilarious. If I can finagle it I would like the next movie I watch to be Puppet Master. I've seen bits and pieces, The Leech Woman is always hiding in my memory waiting to gross me out, but I want to finally watch at least the first two Puppet Master movies after watching a Red Letter Media video on the topic.
Yesterday the family went to the Cincinatti Zoo and on the way back I forced the family to stop at Arcade Legacy. I haven't been there since they moved out of the terrifying Day of the Dead style empty and definitely haunted mall. Their new location is very nice and definitely worth the trip. The kids had a blast and the clear winner among all of the cabs was the Rampage World Tour. I will have to track down a copy for the N64 because they were both enthralled for like 20 minutes,I was shocked how well that held attention. When we first walked into the arcade section a girl who was probably around 10 years old asked me to play Wind Jammers 2 with her. First of all that is crazy that they have a cab set up for Wind Jammers 2 and I will definitely have to make my way back there as often as possible to play that bad billy. Secondly what are the odds the first thing to happen would be a small child would challenge me to one of my all time favorite games. I took it very easy on her but still managed to win without really trying.
To do list: Convert the good ending of HotD HD into a gif and toss that on my cool HotD shrine. Make the time to run through HotD 4 on the PS3 just for fun. Maybe take a screenshot or capture some footage if I'm feeling squirelly enough to do it.
10-03-2024:Added the House of the Dead page. I've been having fun adding stuff to it. For my birthday in January I want to go to a new arcade in Richmond Indiana that has a House of the Dead cabinet according to their website. I would like to get some photos of the cabinet as well as my run through the Curien mansion. The other draw is the Pizza King. It's the ony out of state pizza that comes close to my home town favorite Cassano's. I am also going to add a poll page but right now I'm going to go outside and play with my son. LATER THAT NIGHT. I did get the second frame added to the right hand side of the page. Got the poll added and plan on keeping a What I'm playing currently section there. May also keep a film log there.
10-01-2024:Been chugging away at the website as much as time allows. I've been posting a bunch of stuff on the Dragon Quest page. The next big feature I Want to add to that is my completion chart. Something that I used to keep track of in a notebook that I used for note taking when playing games at work. I also got an email back from the Neocities people, an unnamed very helpful staff member, and my original Neocities page has been restored. Very cool. Maybe I'll stck to updating this page then use that as a mirror or maybe use that instead of my instagrams linktree. Perhaps I can make a bunch of custom 88X31 web buttons for that page linking to all of my nonsense? Who knows!
That does bring up another point of business. I need to make some 88X31 buttons for the menu on the left. I would also like to make a frame for the top to add a banner. When googling around I did find an interesting page that went into the history of web buttons and how that standard size of 88X31 came to be. Turns out it has to do with the Netscape browser popularizing it. Very neat tidbit of useless history. To add to my authentic web 1.0 odyssey thought I need to fire up MS paint and make some cool buttons. There are some cool generators but I need a more personal touch.
That reminded me of making customized AOL Instant Messenger Icons and adding them to my websites downloads page. The coolest one was the Black Mage from Final Fantasy casting the fire spell. It was an animated .gif. Very cool. Man what a time to be a teenager. Perhaps I'll add a downloads page here and add those icons. I actually found and uploaded that little .gif. I' have to stick this guy somewhere else or else he'll get lost in these updates.
09-30-2024:Here's a quick to do list before I forget. Post the Mondo Cool Monthly archives on here. Make a House of the Dead page. Make a Bomberman page. Repost some of the classic FatJuicySlop.com pages. Mainly the Loveland Frog and Juggalo Wrestling pages. Those were always the coolest.
09-29-2024:I managed to nuke my first neocities page. I tried to set up a webring and think the file did something that the server did not like. oops. So I will start over. This time I will make sure to keep everything backed up offline lmao. I worked so hard for that janky hell hole. I messaged the admins and will see if there's anything they can do. For whatever reason I'm not able to login.
